Chef Rohira started his training at The Culinary Institute of America (CIA) in Hyde Park, New York, and graduated in 1995. It was because of his exceptional dedication, passion, and professionalism that he started to work for high-standard resorts such as The Balsams, The Cloisters, The Wigwam and as Executive Pastry Chef at the Chevy Chase Club in Washington DC.

Anil Rohira’s success is due to his strong belief in the balance of “heart, head and hand”. His great dedication was recognized in 2009 when Anil Rohira was awarded Pastry Chef of the Year at the World Pastry Team Championship & World Pastry Forum.

She started out as a pastry chef but, went on to work in various capacities at restaurants around the world including Gaggan in Bangkok, Junoon in Dubai and Noma in Copenhagen. Her range now extends far beyond pastry and she is part of a new generation of chefs who run waste-free kitchens and use classical techniques to create new dishes with local ingredients.

Chef Danish Khan is a gold medalist Indian pastry chef. Chef Khan started his stint as a pastry chef with Hotel ITC Maratha, Mumbai and then moved on to work with other brands such as Shababik International, Jeddah Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and JW Marriott. He was the Callebaut Patisserie of the year 2019, a Gold and Silver medalist in South Indian Chef Association(SICA) and World Association of Chefs’ Society(WACS).

Tejasvi Chandela is one of the great promoters of Indian pastry. At just 22 years old, after training in Paris, she returned to her native Jaipur to open Dzurt in 2013, the first pastry shop in this town of more than three million inhabitants. In 2023, the chef not only managed to consolidate this business, but she also has a second space dedicated to making bean to bar chocolates called All Things.
Chandela also travels around the country and to other training centers around the world to show how compatible traditional Indian techniques and flavors are with modern European-style pastry.

She opened India’s first Macaron store and is the owner of bakery chain Le15 Patisserie that specializes in macarons and a host of French desserts. She has been featured in national dailies and is a regular in fashion and lifestyle glossies not just for her abilities in the kitchen, but also as a dynamic businesswoman and inspiration to women – she was selected by Forbes India for their ‘30 Under 30’ achievers list for 2014 and the Forbes 30 under 30 Asia list. She has published two books, a best seller (in India) on baking. and The Wholesome Kitchen.

Chef Bani Nanda: Inspiring Desi of the Day

Bani Nanda is a pastry chef, she’s the owner and founder of Miam, a Delhi-based Patisserie. Her love affair with pâtisserie goes back to when she first experienced a taste of her mother’s delectable home made cakes. Armed with a degree in Physics, this rush eventually led her to Le Cordon Bleu, Paris. A tryst at Dalloyau, one of Paris’ oldest pâtisserie dating back over 400 years, brought out her passion in French pastry and desserts.
